WHAT IS THE IRONMAN?

The MGM Ironman is a "one of a kind" match and has been since its actualization in 1999. Mike Gibson developed an idea for the type of match that he wanted to shoot. It is long, intense, and you shoot till you drop! Mike frequently says, "this match isn't for weenies or crybabies".

In the twelve years the Ironman has been held, it has continually grown and is quickly becoming one of the top matches in the nation. With creative and challenging stage designs, high round counts, and a great RO crew the IRONMAN is truly a unique match. The match includes 10 or more stages, an 900+ round count (if the shooter doesn't miss), and EVERY stage requires the use of all 3 guns. The Ironman is an intense test of both shooter and equipment, not to mention it is a blast! Over 3 days, the participants will shoot from the back of a moving vehicle, while driving a golf cart, from the top of a 20 ft tower, and while carrying a dummy. Every stage has a 10 minute time limit and the average time spent shooting on EACH stage is about 7 minutes. Needless to say these shooters are serious about their game and greatly appreciate support from companies who enable shooting sports.

2010 Updates

6-16-2010 - MGM Ironman scores have been posted.

6-15-2010 - Much to our embarrassment, we failed to recognize long time 3 Gunner, and close personal friend, Bill Sahlberg, and his company HigherCapacity.us as one of our very much appreciated Ironman Match Sponsors. Bill Sahlberg had generously donated a bunch of .308 high cap magazines, and a special high cap .223 magazine for the High Junior. While the prizes all made it to the prize table, Bill's banner was misplaced during the banner hanging process, and never made it up. Then, we failed to mention HigherCapacity.us at all during the awards ceremony. Higher Capacity Logo We want to publicly extend our apologies to Bill, and would request that all of you (especially those who got the magazines!) drop Bill, a thank you note. We hope you are sending all of our sponsors a thank you note, as well.
Hope to see you next year, or sooner!
Mike and Travis

6-15-2010 - We have posted a bunch of pictures from this years MGM Ironman in the MGM Targets Photo Gallery. As you browse through the pictures, note the sponsor banners, because without the sponsors, the MGM Ironman would not be what it is today. Please take the time NOW to contact each of the sponsors and thank them for contributing. At the very least, please contact the sponsors who donated the items in your prize package and thank them for their donation. Times are tough all around, but these companies and individuals took money from their bottom line to give to you in support of our sport. Thank you.
