The end of the government fiscal year rapidly approaches and we at MGM are acutely aware of the time pressured deadlines that sometimes accompany that. We have been supplying the military with their steel target needs over the last two decades and have always been sensitive to those last minute purchases to meet those needs. At MGM we do not consider multiple orders, separate shipping destinations, or coordinating timing of shipments to be complex. It is something we do all the time. To further assist you we have extended our normal customer service hours to handle those requests from coast to coast.
At MGM, our background in both steel manufacturing and competitive shooting gives us the edge over our other target manufacturing colleagues. Our state of the art processes, designs and the finest quality steel available anywhere in the world gives us the ability to deliver to the military around the world the best in training equipment. "Leave Nothing To Chance" is not just a motto to us, it is the driving force behind our total commitment to the military and law enforcement personnel to help keep them safe.
Just a reminder, we are MAS contractors and as such Federal Acquisition Regulation 8.404(a), use of Federal Supply Schedules, states, in part, "Blanket Purchase Agreement's (BPA) and orders placed against a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS), using the procedures in this subpart are considered to be issued using full and open competition. Meaning that if you are crunched for time and cannot or wish not to send this out for bid it can be handled with this regulation. This does not only include our targets but also our Shoot Houses and Rappel Towers.
If we can be of help to you with anything regarding the purchase of equipment for any of your training needs, we wanted to let you know that we will do all in our power to answer questions, expedite quotes, bid special projects or meet billing or shipping deadlines to make this time of year easier for you.
Please let us know how we may be of assistance to you.
MGM Sponsored Grand Nationals Strikes Lightning A lightning strike caused a small brush fire very close to the Parma Rod and Gun Club in Idaho last weekend where the MGM sponsored Grand Nationals were held. Jerry Miculek caught lightning in a bottle when he struck the competition down winning the title of Grand Champion at the inaugural MGM Grand Nationals. Jerry finished off a hot round of Man-on-Man competition in the finals beating out Ted Bonnet from Texas. Check here for the full story.

MGM Announces Formation of New Divisions
"A new and exciting expansion of the Mike Gibson Manufacturing umbrella is being announced today," claimed company President Mike Gibson. "We are in such a terrific growth spurt right now that it has become necessary for us set up certain divisions within our company. Starting now we have officially formed a new MGM Tactical Division headed up by Paul LaFrance as Director."
This announcement was made Wednesday at a company meeting held at MGM headquarters in Caldwell, ID. This new Tactical Division will focus on the company's further development of shooting ranges, live fire shoot houses, shooting/rappel towers and range construction. Paul LaFrance has spent many years in sales management handling such projects and his experience will be a great asset to the burgeoning growth rate of MGM. LaFrance stated, "MGM has many opportunities across the country and internationally for bullet traps, shoot houses and towers. The timing is perfect for our company to dedicate a Tactical Division just to manage these wonderful opportunities we have available."
Gibson unveiled the new MGM strategy at the meeting along with the new MGM Tactical logo. Following the same design as the MGM Targets Division logo introduced several months ago the new logo has inserted MGM Tactical into the target silhouette. This design has been received very well in the field and compliments were many at the recent Shot Show. "People seemed to really like the new design stating that it is modern, attractive and contains all the elements that a logo should have to appeal to the public," Jim Potter, Marketing Manager for MGM proclaimed.
With the new divisions being formed, business reaching levels never attained before and huge opportunities waiting at their doorstep, MGM is poised to rapidly expand their business here in the United States and around the world.
MGM Targets Big Hit at 2011 Shot Show
Mike Gibson, President of MGM Targets, came back from the 2011 Shot Show with a huge smile on his face. After many years of travelling to the Shot Show and displaying many of the MGM wares over those years he stated, "This was the best Shot Show I have ever attended. Not just the Show itself but the crowd's reaction to our new products was absolutely overwhelming. Never have we ever had so much interest and generated so much in sales as we did this year. If I had to sum up our reaction in one word it would simply be 'WOW.' Greatest Show e-v-e-r," he emphasized.
MGM travelled with a larger entourage than normal to the show knowing they had a lot of new things to talk about. They displayed the only pneumatically driven, self-contained, auto-reset target on the market. The ReCon, as it is known, gathered a crowd every time they simulated a bullet strike to the target face plate. The target would fall and then slowly rise back up to the fully upright position in a matter of seconds. One amazed military member claimed, "This is absolutely incredible! Out on the range we are so tired of walking two or three hundred yards to replace plastic gears or shear pins. This is going to save us a lot of time and frustration. This design is so simple. So few parts that can go wrong. Incredible."
>Marketing Manager, Jim Potter, said, "This is the kind of reaction that the ReCon got every time over the 4 day exposition. We are very proud of the acceptance this has found in all market segments, military, law enforcement, and the general shooting industry. We were also very excited about the response our new IPSC Auto-Reset Target received." The IPSC AR, as it is known, was unveiled at this year's Shot Show also. This spring loaded, quick resetting target is placed on a tube steel H-base for stability and is similar to MGM's very popular US Popper Auto-Reset target. Potter stated, "Based on our success with the US Popper Auto-Reset target it was only natural for us to follow up the design with a different silhouette. We chose the IPSC silhouette because it is such an integral part of the industry. With the response we got across the board at the Show we know it will be as big of a great success."
Director of Business Development, Paul LaFrance, spent many hours at the Show talking with both military and law enforcement agencies across this country and around the world expounding on the qualities of the $117,000 shoot house that MGM just started marketing. MGM has been building shoot houses for many years but this one is designed to make it economically feasible for most people to afford. "I was particularly excited about all of the global connections we made at this year's show. The interest level from our friends overseas was particularly satisfying to me. The quality of our product line has gained an international following and it is up to us to capitalize on this," he stated. "Our ability to supply these groups with an affordable shoot house is just one of many things we have to offer. With budgets being squeezed everywhere, delivering a product that offers quality at an affordable price is going to be key to any company's success. The people who can deliver both price and quality will be well placed when the economy recovers and MGM intends to be that company," he continued.
With projects such as the ReCon, the IPSC Auto-Reset, and a 1760 square foot shoot house for only $117,000 it appears that MGM is indeed making dramatic new strides in capturing more market share in the future. Mike Gibson summed it up this way, "My people have been charged with making us the major player in this industry and I feel we have the pieces in place to get this done. I look forward to the hard work and dedication that it will take to achieve this goal."
Registrations open for 2011 MGM Ironman 3 gun
Registrations for the 2011 MGM Ironman 3 gun will be open February 1st at 6:00 PM MST. We are making a major change for this years match. There are actually going to be two matches this year. The first match will be the 5th-7th of June. This match is going to be for the Open, Limited, Trooper and Heavy Optics divisions. The second match will run the 9th-11th. This match will be for the Scoped Tactical divisions. Registrations will all be online this year at www.mgmironman.com. All of the details on the match will be there as well.
There will be a couple of changes in our equipment and division rules this year. For starters, we will not have a He Man division this year. We will however have a Heavy Optics division. The Heavy Optics division is exactly the same as Scoped Tactical, but you have to use a .30 caliber or larger rifle.
The Scoped Tactical division will now fall in line with the International Multigun Rules. There will no longer be the allowance for one “open” gun in this class. This means one adjustable optic only, and no bi-pods. The shotgun will be limited to 9 rounds max in the gun at the start. We are doing this in an effort to unify all of the major matches which in turn will help simplify the sport for new shooters. Limited division will now allow non-magnified red dot optics.
3 Gun Nation (www.3gunnation.com) will be back to film the Ironman for season 2 as well. The shoot off for $5,000 will be held on the 11th after the completion of the Scoped Tactical match.
We are still in need of some support staff in the way of Range Officers. If you are interested in helping out, we will give you a free entry to the match of your choice as long as openings are available, as well as a couple of other perks. Please contact Travis Gibson for additional details on participating as a staff member.

6-3-2010 - MGM TRANFORMS TO ROAD WARRIORS FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE.
MGM Targets management is going to hit the road hard this month of June as they travel to spots around the United States participating in shows, matches and shooting demonstrations. Mike Gibson, President of the target manufacturing company out of Caldwell, ID will be hauling steel targets across a multi-state area the during month of June. Vice President, Travis Gibson will be concentrating his efforts on the MGM Ironman Competition to be held June 10 through June 12 but will take timeout to go to the USPSA Area 1 Pistol Match to be held June 24-27 in Idaho Falls, ID which MGM is also sponsoring.
Mike's travels will be taking him to Ephrata, WA for the June 5th Washington State Steel Challenge Championship. From there he will be returning to oversee and participate in his MGM Ironman Competition in Parma, ID. He is very excited about this year's competition in particular because five of the best shooters in the world will be competing. He anticipates lots of excitement, camaraderie and thrilling finishes. Once the breakdown is complete at the Parma Rod and Gun Club, Mike will be packing his truck and trailer and heading to Pueblo, CO for the IPBO Tactical 3-Gun Match hosted by the Pueblo Police Department. This competition is very close to Mike's heart as proven by his long and valued support of law enforcement agencies across the United States and is proud to be a sponsor of this event. From the banks of the Arkansas River, Mike will be packing his bags and his truck and travelling the highway to Albuquerque, NM for the June 19-20 Annual High Desert Classic and 2010 New Mexico Regional hosted by the Rio Grande Practical Shooting Club. Immediately after that match he will load up the truck again and drive to the weeklong US National SWAT Championships held in Tulsa, OK.
The US National SWAT Championships will be the last of the shows on a long June travel schedule for Mike and Travis. As a Founding Sponsor of this event Mike is proud of the international recognition this event now receives. "It is a genuine training opportunity, providing additional skills and insight that will help keep these Swat members and police sniper teams alive on the job", stated Gibson. Gibson will have travelled over 4200 miles by journeys end. When asked why he spends so much time on the road he was quick to respond, "I love the sport and business of target shooting. When we travel we can save our customers money by loading up their targets in the truck and trailer and deliver them to the shows we attend. We give our valued customers a way to save 10% on the price of their targets by me delivering them to matches that we are participating in across the United States.” Gibson also mentioned that his customers can save an additional 10% by not having the targets they purchase painted.
"By staying in touch with our base customers we know what they want and what new innovations we need to produce. As the only target manufacturer with top ranked law enforcement instructors and competitive shooters on our R&D team, we have a distinct advantage over other target manufacturers," he explained. Mike also stated that, By travelling to and supporting these types of events I am able to take advantage of advice and comments from our R&D team members who participate at these shows." He went on to explain that the only way the action shooting sports will continue to grow is by manufacturers stepping up to the plate to help carry the load at these types of events. MGM is proud to say that they help sponsor all the matches they are travelling to this month and several that they won't be able to attend personally.

It's here now: 2011 Customer Appreciation Program
In our continued effort to grow our customer base, and thank our current customers, we are implementing a Customer Appreciation Program.
Basically, the way this is going to work is if you introduce a new customer to us, we will pay you 10% of their first order. The first order has to be over $500 and it only applies to steel as we just break even on the paper. So if one of your buddies calls us up and places an order for $1000, we'll cut you a check for $100. It's just that simple.
Here are some more details. We are trusting you to be honest about this, so we'll be really upset if you have one of your friends call up and order a bunch of stuff and then find out he paid for it with a club credit card. We are doing this for two reasons. The obvious one is to introduce more people to our products and grow our business. The second reason is to continue our effort to grow the shooting sports and support of the second amendment. This offer will not apply to items on our monthly special. The new customer must tell us the referring MGM customer's name at the time the order is placed.
Please call with any questions you may have, and thanks again for your business!!!!
Credit Card terms change
9-23-2009 - In the current economic climate, most companies are searching for ways to reduce operating costs. MGM is no exception. With that in mind, effective immediately, a 3% processing fee will be added to all credit card orders over $2,500.
We will continue to include the shipping charges as we have in the past. We sincerely appreciate your business, and we fully recognize and understand that you can purchase from anyone.
It has always been our clear objective to earn your business by providing the most cost effective and durable products on the market, supported by the best customer service. We will continue to dilligently work toward that end. Please let us know how we may best serve you.
Most Respectfully,
Mike Gibson

The Manny Brag class is full! Thank you for your interest. (2/20/09)
MGM is proud to announce that we are going to help sponsor a two day class put on by one of our sponsored shooters, Manny Bragg. This will be a two day class on the 17th and 18th of June which is right before the Area 1 pistol match. You will get two days of training from one of the best shooters in the world (literally) and then, Manny is going to shoot the match with the class on Friday. The class will be held at the Parma, ID range which is the same place the match will be held and will be limited to eight (8) students. Student slots will be awarded on a first come first served basis.
Here is the best part...the price. Because of our sponsorship of Manny, he has agreed to do this class for free!!! That's right!! FREE!!! But you know what they say, "You don't ever get somethin' for nothin' " This holds true here as well. What we are asking for is a $250 "donation" to the 2009 MGM/USAMU Jr. Camp. This years camp was a huge success and we are already looking forward to next year. The first eight people to contact me and make payment arrangements will be the ones that get in. Sorry, but I don't know any other fair way to do it.
It has come to our attention that the hinge on our Pepper Popper and US Popper can become bent if the target is reset too forcefully. All future production Pepper Poppers and US Poppers will have a stregthened hinge assembly.
MGM is providing replacement Pepper Popper Hinges at No Charge, for anybody who requests them. These will include new bolts/nuts, and will be shipped at No Charge to the customers.
Manny Bragg Newest member of the MGM Shooting Team
After a few months of negotiations, MGM is proud to announce that Emanuel Bragg is on board as the newest member of the MGM Shooting Team, joining other top shooters we support, 3 gun shooters Bennie Cooley and Dave Neth. MGM is supporting Manny with MGM Targets for his new shooting range in Kirksville, MO. Emanuel has been amongst the top pistol shooters for many years holding MANY National, Area, and State titles. He will also represent the USA in Bali later this year at the World Shoot. Good luck on your shooting and MGM is here to support you in becoming the best shooter that you can be!

Update for 1/13/09 -- The New Steel for New Shooters promotion sponsored by MGM ended 12/31. MGM is pleased to announce that the SouthEast Practical Shooters Association has recruited 11 new members to the USPSA. This is more than TRIPLE the amount recruited by any other single club in the country! Along with the certificates of $100 for each new adult shooter, and $150 for each new Junior shooter, MGM is making an additional "surprise" contribution of $500. WELL DONE, and THANKS, SEPSA!
Mike Gibson, MGM Targets
AS PART OF MGM'S CONTINUING COMMITMENT to the 2nd Amendment, the shooting sports in general, and to the USPSA in particular, we have implemented a reward program that will benefit clubs or individuals who bring new shooters into the USPSA organization. In short, if you or your shooting club bring a new member into the organization in 2008, we will send you a certificate for $100, that can be used toward any steel product that MGM manufacturers. If you bring in 3 new members, we'll send you three certificates for $100 each. There is no limit on how many new members you can bring, and there is no limit on the way the certificates can be used. They can be used any way you want, just like cash. They can't be used on paper targets, Pressure Plates, or the Snapper (clam shell or bear trap style) target activators, because we don't manufacture those products. No other exceptions.
61,960 was the last membership number issued by the USPSA as of April 30, 2008. If your new shooter's membership number is after that, you are eligible for the $100. To get the certificate, please send a copy of the new shooters membership card to us AFTER they are classified in at least one category. Any classification other than a U, in any division, is acceptable. We have this provision so nobody signs up their dog, their cat, or their goldfish, to get the hundred bucks. The new shooter has to actually shoot enough to get a classification.
MGM's goal is to get people shooting, so they'll become PRO gun, and PRO 2nd Amendment, and so they'll VOTE PRO GUN. This country is at a critical crossroads politically speaking, and if we don't have people standing up for what they believe in, they WILL find themselves wishing they had. If you can encourage them to also join the NRA, we'll send you an extra $20 certificate. That will cover half of the Annual Membership. If you are serious about the 2nd Amendment, make the commitment to an NRA Life Membership, or up grade to a Life Membership. They'll charge your credit card $25 per QUARTER. If you aren't really serious about supporting the 2nd Amendment, quit prentending.
We hope to see you and your new shooting buddy on the range!
USAMU-MGM Junior Camp to be held this fall at Ft. Benning!
Update for 11/10/08 The 2008 Camp was a tremendous success. For more information and pictures, visit the website at www.juniorshootercamp.org.
Preliminary details have been worked out, but it looks like this will be a GO! The camp will tentatively be limited to 60 shooters, and will feature top ranked instructors, as you'd expect from the Army Marksmanship Unit! With the Army providing the ranges, and MGM subsidizing the other costs, it is possible that the only costs to the campers will be ammo, transportation, and 4 meals!
More details should be available by 15 May. Keep watching this site!

MGM is proud to announce we have been named the official steel supplier of the American Action Shooting Association Nationals Shoot May 8 through 11, 2008.
MGM Targets official policy on pistol match sponsorships for 2009
To Whom It May Concern:
First off, thank you for considering MGM as a sponsor for your upcoming event. We are honored to be considered.
With that said, it is with regret that we must decline any requests for pistol match sponsorships. Over the last year, several large matches that MGM has supported including the Open/L10 Nationals, have offered little to no recognition of MGM for our contributions. We have also received less than five (5) letters (during all of 2008), from competitors thanking us for our donations to the prize table. Because of this clear lack of recognition, and apparent lack of appreciation, we can only assume that the $158,000.00 we spent in advertising through match donations in 2008 were, for the most part, a waste.
If you happen to be holding a multi-gun, shot gun, long range, military or law enforcement event, we would be delighted to review your proposal. It seems as though the people that participate in these events recognize quality equipment when they see it, and are both faithful customers and very appreciative of MGMs support of these events.
We hate to lump all pistol matches into the same category. If you feel the circumstances described above are not representative of your pistol event, please feel free to contact me. I would be happy to discuss this matter further.
Please accept our very best wishes for success with your match.
Most respectfully,
Travis Gibson
Vice President
