JUNIOR SHOOTERS CAMP

WHERE & WHEN

USAMU logoFt. Benning, GA the 2nd Weekend of October 10-12th. Hosted by the United States Army Marksmanship Unit, there will be at least 6 nationally recognized instructors including SSG Max Michel, SGT Travis Tomasie, SPC KC Eusebio, SPC Daniel Horner, SPC Lee Dimaculangan, SFC Robby Johnson and others to provide both intermediate and advanced training to 60 Juniors who qualify. Most of the cost of this class is covered by the US Army, MGM Targets, USPSA, DPMS, Warne Scope Mounts, and Center Of Mass.

Transportation of Juniors and parents or guardians to and from Columbus, GA is NOT covered. Lodging for all, with no exceptions, will be at the Holiday Inn. Complete lodging information will be provide with your confirmation letter. Your ammunition can be shipped to the hotel, but has to arrive no earlier than 3 days prior to camp. The USAMU is providing free bus service to and from Ft. Benning all 3 days.

QUALIFICATIONS

USPSA logo You must be an active member of USPSA, IDPA, SASS, OR at least 15 years of age with good handgun handling skills already. This is NOT a beginner's firearms safety class.

HOW YOU SIGN UP

DPMS logo To help keep track of the forms and dates involved, we have provided a check list for your use.

1. Fill out the application form and send it in with the $100 deposit, your essay, consent form, and liability form. USAMU-MGM Junior Shooters Camp Application.

2. Write a one-page essay to tell us about yourself and your shooting experiences. This should include what you expect to gain from this class and how the 2nd Amendment to the US Constitution applies to you today, to this training class, and to our shooting sport in specific.

3. You must have your parent(s) or guardian(s) accompany you to this event and have the authorization forms for liability against both AMU and MGM Targets sent with the application and deposit. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

Warne Scope Mounts logo 1. Hat, eye and ear protection (for parents too), a reliable gun, holster, belt, 3+ magazine pouches, at least four working magazines, and 1500 rounds of loaded ammunition.

2. Appropriate clothing for the possible inclement October Georgia weather and a good pair of athletic shoes as you will be both standing and running. No offensive clothing or logos will be allowed. We will be the guests of the US Army. Aside from the fact that they have earned our sincere appreciation, as guest, we should treat our hosts with respect and courtesy.

Center of Mass logo $200.00 - $250.00 We are currently talking with other sponsors to further reduce the remaining balance.

1. Transportation to the Columbus, GA Holiday Inn, and ammunition shipping costs will be up to you. Be sure to check with your airlines as many are putting ammunition weight restrictions on baggage.

2. The Holiday Inn will provide a continental breakfast. Lunch will be catered and will cost you $8.00 per day. You can pack a lunch if you prefer. Dinner is your responsibility.

3. Any additional cost for sight seeing, car rental, visiting around the Columbus area, etc. will also be your responsibility.

DISCIPLINE

We are expecting all juniors to be exemplary citizens along with their parents or guardians. However, if any one of the Team Leaders has any issues with any junior that is not immediately resolved, the shooter and escorts will be asked to leave immediately, with no refund.
