As you know I have purchased only MGM targets for some time now.
I recently responded to an email advertisement on a new concept plate rack from another manufacturer. The price was very attractive, so I ordered it. Not surprisingly, I was extremely disappointed when I opened the boxes and assembled it; I was more disappointed when I found defective parts were shipped.
The company was very good about replacing the defective items that should not have shipped. However, the plate rack does not work as well as advertised or as I had anticipated. I will never be happy with it.
It is a toy and looks out of place compared to the rest of my MGM steel. Serious ranges deserve serious steel.
I am mostly disappointed with myself for violating my own advice....buy only MGM steel, you won't be disappointed. How can you beat a lifetime guarantee?

Lolli Popper durability!

My agency uses the range owned by another agency. We try to buy supplies, including steel, for the range to help out. For several years, I've left my personally owned Lolli-Popper downrange for a rifle target. The Lolli-Popper was set up on the same berm shared by their shoot house and earlier this month they decided to demolish the shoot house.

The genius running the bulldozer decided that the Lolli-Popper was obviously trash and preceded to push the target into the berm. When I went to the range this past Sunday, I couldn't find my Lolli-Popper. After some searching, I found the two target plates sticking out from the dirt like odd periscopes, nothing else could be found or seen. A co-worker and I found a shovel and spent the next 20 minutes digging the target out of the berm.

I was worried that when we got the target out, the base would be messed up and the target would not be usable. When we finally got the target out of the berm, I was very pleased to see that except for being very muddy, the target was just fine.

I've attached some images to show you what happened. I didn't think to take pictures until well into the process but I swear, the only thing showing were the targets. Except for a broken fiberglass shaft, the target is perfectly serviceable. I'll clean it up and have back in use shortly.

Brought the flash targets home and put them to use yesterday. I was pleased to see how flat they packed. Four targets, disassembled, weren't much more than 6" high and fit easily in the Suburban with room left for luggage and guns. I was expecting welded triangles that we'd have to stack in a U-Haul. I could still use the rear view mirror! They worked great and are so simple to assemble. Ingenious design!

I attended the 2010 Colorado Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor's Association conference last week at the Highlands Ranch Training Center. We used MGM targets at a few of the classes and the memorial shoot on the last day. Thank you for your support and for letting us use your steel targets, it truly enhanced the training and made the match shoot much easier and more fun. The instant feedback is a definite plus not to mention no taping needed!

NorCal Practical Precision Rifle Club has been using MGM targets for the past 5 years and the original targets we got 5 years ago are still in service today. We have abused MGM targets with everything from a 243win going 3100FPS to 300Win Mags pushing 190gn bullets @ 2900FPS. After 1000s of rounds down range these targets take round after round without failure.

I wanted to let everyone know what a great company these guys run! MGM makes HIGH quality targets, and some of us had the chance to shoot Bob's during the last range day. So anyway I decided to order a few as they are having a KILLER special right now on their auto poppers. While I was at work yesterday they got delivered and on the way home from work this morning I got a message from Kevin at MGM and that there had been an issue with my order and to give him a call ASAP. So I get home and open the box and take a look and notice that they are missing the base that they showed to come with on their website. So I give Kevin a call and the first thing out of his mouth is how sorry he was about them not shipping the base's with the target and how they would get them out ASAP!

Long story short the base that it showed on the website is discontinued and the web guy hadn't updated the page, so to make things right they are shipping me out their updated sniper base.

I cannot tell you how refreshing it was to talk to someone who was so concerned with my satisfaction and wanted to make sure things were right! I was so impressed I gave him an order for another target. If anyone is interested in a SUPER HIGH QUALITY target, please consider buying it from Kevin at MGM!

I can tell you from my experience teaching practical shooting classes over the years that the MGM plate Rack is 2nd to none, I cannot even start to tell you how many rounds we have down range on the 4 that we have at the Universal Shooting Academy in Florida, but speculating I would say over 2 million rounds and not one mechanical problem yet . As you both know, I've been in the ammunition ballistics testing service for quite some time now, beginning in the early '90's. I was searching for way to confirm long range target hits when the target was so far out the bullet hole could not be seen on paper in a standard spotting scope. That's when I came to begin using steel reactive targets that I could confirm an instant hit or miss. Early on in my search for a quality target plate that would do what I needed it to, and stand up to constant rifle bullets hits, I purchased and tested just about everyones steel target on the market at that time. Everyones designs were similar, but it became quickly apparent after about six months of heavy usage, the Mike Gibson Manufacturing line of steel auto poppers were the only ones left standing and still asking for more. That led me to purchase a lot more MGM steel, eventually owning enough targets at one time ($12,000.00 worth) to run a fairly large three gun match competition. My inventory included just about six of every type of target that could be used in a 3 gun match. My MGM steel target inventory will completely fill a 6'X12'X2' high trailer. After 15 years, all of my MGM steel is still standing and still working. I have shot most of my auto poppers enough that the springs got weak in them, but all it took was a quick call to MGM and I had replacement springs in the mail in just a few days. I understand that the spring problem was no fault of MGM, but a spring supplier instead. So....after thousands of rounds and 15 years later, I can say without any doubt that MGM steel targets is the cream of the crop in the steel target industry. Whenever I hear anyone talking about purchasing steel targets, I quickly recommend MGM as their only source. And customer service at MGM regardless of who answers the phone there treats you like they've known you all their life. Thanks for great steel target products and the best customer service in the industry. I'm a customer for life.

I would recommend MGM Targets fully and without hesitation. Simply put, MGM targets are the only targets I buy. Why, because they don't break, even when used by soldiers (horribly abused).

MGM engineers their products to be used in real world less than perfect training environments. I imagine they build such a stout product because they stand behind their product virtually unconditionally.

If your shopping at a big box store hoping to get a unicorn knock over, Mike is not your guy. If you are willing to go the extra mile for quality training targets that perform, MGM is best manufacturer I have found.

After purchasing a few steel targets from another source, our club found out about MGM Targets. We purchased a few more targets from MGM and there was no comparison in quality or durability.
